چکیده

The use of a synthetic jet as the flow control technique to modulate turbulent incompressible round was explored and assessed by numerical simulations. response characterised in terms statistics acoustic far-field. A quasi-Direct Numerical Simulation (qDNS) strategy used predict effects. Ffowcs-Williams Hawkings (FWH) analogy employed compute far-field response. An amplification effect instabilities induced observed for some parameters explored. Simulation and Modeling of Turbulent Jet Noise

Jet noise reduction remains an important long-range goal in commercial and military aviation. Comparedwith their early counterparts, modern, ultrahigh-bypass-ratio turbofans on commercial aircraft are very quiet, but evermore stringent noise regulations dictate further reductions. In addition, hearing loss bypersonnel and community noise issues are prompting the military to seek noise reduction...

Some aspects of aerodynamic flow control using synthetic-jet actuation.

Aerodynamic flow control effected by interactions of surface-mounted synthetic (zero net mass flux) jet actuators with a local cross flow is reviewed. These jets are formed by the advection and interactions of trains of discrete vortical structures that are formed entirely from the fluid of the embedding flow system, and thus transfer momentum to the cross flow without net mass injection across...

Synthetic jet actuation for load control

The reduction of wind turbine blade loads is an important issue in the reduction of the costs of energy production. Reduction of the loads of a non-cyclic nature requires so-called smart rotor control, which involves the application of distributed actuators and sensors to provide fast and local changes in aerodynamic performance. This paper investigates the use of synthetic jets for smart rotor...

Numerical study of turbulent forced convection jet flow of nanofluid in a converging sinusoidal channel

Research in convective heat transfer using suspensions of nanometer-sized solid particles in base liquids started only over the past decade. Recent investigations on nanofluid, as such suspensions are often called, indicate that the suspended nanoparticles remarkably change the transport properties and heat transfer characteristics of the suspension. Bending walls can also improve heat transfer...
